Maison Vidal welcomes you on the Place du Marché, right in the centre of the village of Saint-Julien-Chapteuil, near Le Puy-en-Velay.
This family-run business brings together two addresses under the same roof: a fine-dining restaurant that skilfully explores the French culinary repertoire, and Le Bistrot de Justin, a convivial and mouthwatering dining experience. Two complementary establishments that have been handed down through the generations since 1954.



A culinary experience in partnership
Today, Aurélien Vidal is the chef of his own kitchen, drawing on an expertise acquired both in France and abroad, while working in top Michelin-starred establishments alongside renowned culinary mentors. In partnership with his wife and maître de maison, Aurélie Vidal, the chef welcomes families, groups of friends, epicureans and those simply passing through to either his fine dining or bistronomic table, depending on how the mood takes them. He invites his guests to explore a world of culinary delights, as locally sourced as possible, punctuated by unexpected notes, all wonderfully in tune with the passing seasons.

Maison Vidal in the Haute-Loire welcomes gourmets and cooking enthusiasts behind the scenes of its establishment.
Chef Aurélien Vidal is keen to pass on his passion by sharing his culinary savoir-faire with each and every one of his guests.
With this in mind, classes are organised every month, based on a variety of themes.
In small groups, everyone has the chance to practise in a professional kitchen and benefit from the chef's tips in this unique and intimate setting.
Afterwards, participants round off their afternoon with a convivial meal sampling their creations.

On a daily basis and for special events, chef Aurélien Vidal and his team offer dishes from Le Bistrot de Justin to take away, as well as a more elaborate menu which reflects the changing seasons and includes specials from our fine dining restaurant and dishes to share.
The chef offers his reinterpreted versions of the great classics, all showcasing the finest produce, from aperitifs through to desserts, for your private and corporate events. Maison Vidal can also cater for your annual festivities, including Christmas and New Year's Eve.
